A moment of epiphany……
I am currently seated in the verandah of the holiday home of my friend. A home in Kalawana – a remote town in Sri Lanka, in the Ratnapura District. She has made this scenic place her retreat from the hustle and bustle of Colombo. I can understand why…..
Her verandah overlooks a vast garden with several groves of trees and misty looking mountains in the background. Her house, which is simple and partly rustic, is the ideal place to be in when enjoying the view here. The air too is freshly scented, merging with the cacophony of bird sounds which is so enchanting and soothing to the soul.
I experienced a moment of epiphany here. Enjoying nature at her best. How fortunate I was to find time to reflect, to meditate , to enjoy this moment. I wanted time to stop! So I could savour this moment. My friend comes here quite often, probably because nature never goes out of style.
